Account Development/Estimator
JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective
​
Create long-term, trusting relationships with new and current customers. Become a vital member of our Management Team and develop business strategies. Evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. Follow-up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received and also follow-up on bids and budgets to close the business.
Essential Functions

Develop new relationships with customers as well as following up with existing customers to ensure needs are being met.

Arrange meetings with potential/existing clients to showcase the many different scopes of work our division can offer.

Analyze and field measure potential projects as well as discuss repair options and solutions with the customer.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.

Maintain quality service by following organizational standards.

Receive invitations to bid, look over drawings and discuss if project is worth pursuing.

Download and print drawings, perform quantity takeoffs.

Prepare estimates, type up proposals and send to clients.

Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, negotiating prices.

Maintain cost keys and price masters by updating information.

Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

Negotiate project estimates with customers if needed.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
​

Preferably candidate would have 5 years’ experience in concrete related industry.

Must be able to talk with customers to discuss solutions, repair options and application methods.

Must be able to analyze information and develop budgets.

Must be able to communicate, work with a team of people and develop vendor relationships.

Estimating, critical thinking, decision making, reporting skills, documentation skills, time management skills, multitasking, problem solving and attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must know Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Project and Outlook.

Must know how to perform quantity takeoffs.
-
Must be self-motivated & punctual.

Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally.
Work Environment
​
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently juggling many different project leads, contacts and estimates at once. Employee must be able to time manage, communicate and prioritize projects in a way where customers remain happy.
Physical Demands
​
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The position lifts heavy objects, must be able to lift 50lbs. The employee walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Travel
​
Some travel is expected for this position.
